State-Wide Investigations was contacted by a retail chain for assistance related to internal thefts. This included stock items and staff sales Visa reward cards (valued at $200 each), with a total stock loss of over $18,000. We conducted a full corporate investigation by conducting interviews and obtaining formal statements from relevant staff members.
Upon gaining information on where the cards had been used, we were able to obtain security vision of the suspect using the stolen card. Through background checks, we also located an online sales accounts that the suspect had used to sell stolen stock belonging to our client.
After our thorough investigation, we compiled statements and evidentiary logs which then assisted our client in liaising with police. The staff member was terminated and later charged by police.
